The coming into language of de-privileged Subjectivity in digital media culture Inclusion-theoretical perspectives of media pedagogy

Will sich die Medienpädagogik den aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen stellen, wie sie durch die UN-BRK zu einer zentralen Aufgabe gegenwärtiger pädagogischer Auseinandersetzung geworden ist, stellt sich mit Nachdruck die Frage nach einer inklusionstheoretischen Grundierung der Medienpädagogik, ebenso wie nach einer systematischen medienpädagogischen Perspektive auf inklusive Handlungsfelder. Der Beitrag erarbeitet für beides Grundlagen. Auf der Basis poststrukturalistischer und postkolonialer Diskurstheorien und dem inklusionstheoretischen Trilemma von Mai-Anh Boger wird sowohl eine inklusionstheoretische Grundierung der Medienpädagogik als auch eine systematische Perspektive auf inklusive Handlungsfelder entfaltet. Der Beitrag stellt hierfür die Frage nach der Entstehung deprivilegierter Subjektivität in den Mittelpunkt. Ausgehend von Michel Foucault und Gayatri Spivak wird mit Blick auf deprivilegierte Subjektvität gefragt, inwieweit wer an einer Rede teilhaben bzw. (in seiner Eigensprachlichkeit) gehört werden kann. Hierfür wird das Konzept gebrochener Subjektivität entfaltet und die Chancen, die eine medienpädagogische Forschung zu Gesichtspunkten der Inklusion hat, herausgestellt. Abschliessend werden die drei inklusiven Handlungsfelder der Medienpädagogik systematisch dargestellt und das Konzept der «prekären medialen Selbst-Bezeugung» als Heuristik für das ‹Zur Sprache Kommen› deprivilegierter Subjektivität entfaltet.If media pedagogy is to meet the challenges presented by today's society, a task that has, due to the UN-BRK, become central to the current pedagogic debate, the questions of an inclusion-theoretical groundwork for media pedagogy as well as a systematic media pedagogic perspective on inclusive fields of action become ever more pressing. This paper shall develop fundamental frameworks for both issues. Both an inclusion-theoretical foundation for media pedagogy and a systematic perspective on inclusive fields of action will be developed on the basis of post-structural and post-colonial discourse theories and the trilemma of inclusion theory as postulated by Mai-Anh Boger. For this purpose, the central question will be how de-privileged subjectivity is formed. Based on the writings of Michel Foucault and Gayatri Spivak, the question regarding de-privileged subjectivity will be to what extent anyone can participate in speech or be heard (in his or her own language). To that end, we will develop the concept of broken subjectivity and outline the opportunities for media pedagogic research on aspects of inclusion. In conclusion, the three inclusive fields of action in media pedagogy will be portrayed systematically and the concept of «precarious media self-attestation» developed as a heuristic tool that allows de-privileged subjectivity to ‹have its say›

Learning and education as experience occurring within the context of digital media use. Phenomenological and discourse-theoretical questions regarding fundamental terms and the constitution of media pedagogy

Im Rahmen des Beitrags werden zwei Lern- und Bildungsverständnisse der Medienpädagogik in ihrem Verhältnis zur medialen Sphäre und zu vorherrschenden Selbst-Deutungen systematisch dargestellt. Drei Verstehensachsen werden dafür anhand von ausgewählten Beispielen in den Blick genommen. Welt- und Selbstdeutungen und die ihnen zugrunde liegenden Verständnisse vom Selbst bilden die erste Achse. Diskutiert werden das unternehmerische Selbst, das Selbst als Operator und Innovator, das taxonomische Selbst und das partizipative Selbst. Die zweite Achse formiert sich entlang der medienpädagogischen Lern- und Bildungsbegriffe und ist in Zusammenhang zu setzen mit dem Verständnis eines Selbst, das lernt und sich bildet. Und die dritte Achse konturiert sich im jeweiligen Verhältnis der aufgeführten Lern- und Bildungsbegriffe zum in Anspruch genommen Medienverständnis. Vor dem Hintergrund kritischer Rückfragen an die skizzierten Konstellationen werden schliesslich ein phänomenologischer Lern- und Bildungsbegriff entfaltet, mit dem Antwortangebote für die ausgewiesenen kritischen Fragen an die Konstitution der Medienpädagogik vorgestellt werden.This paper will feature a systematic presentation of two media pedagogic concepts of learning and education in relation to both the media sphere and prevalent forms of self-interpretation. To this purpose, the focus will be on three axes of understanding. Interpretations of the world and the self and underlying conceptions of the self constitute the first axis. The subjects under discussion here are the entrepreneurial self, the self as operator and innovator, the taxonomic self and the participatory self. The second axis is constituted on the basis of media pedagogic concepts of learning and education and is placed in relation to the concept of a learning, self-educating self. The third axis is outlined by the respective relations between the abovementioned concepts of learning and education and pertinent media concepts. Within the context of a critical questioning of the constellations outlined here, we will develop a phenomenological concept of learning and education which we will then utilise to present possible answers to the critical questions directed towards the constitution of media pedagogy

We present an efficient variant of this idea, tailored to Rabin automata, and several optimizations applicable to all appearance records. Wir arbeiten heraus, dass Dashboards Schnittstellen zu Verdatungsregimen sind, in denen die von den Lernsubjekten hinterlassenen digitalen Spuren in Echtzeit zu Profiling-, Prognose- und Vergleichszwecken verarbeitet und präsentiert werden. Unsere These ist, dass sich im Kontext der digitalen Hochschulbildung neuartige Verflechtungen zwischen Fremd- und Selbstregierungspraktiken herausbilden, die sich durch besondere Formen des Ineinandergreifens von Außenlenkung und freiwilliger, selbstnormalisierender Innenlenkung von den Machtpraktiken in analogen Kontexten unterscheiden. We carve out how dashboards function as interfaces with regimes of datafication, in which the digital traces left by the learning subjects are processed and presented in real time for the purposes of profiling, forecasting and comparison. We maintain that in the context of digital higher education, new interdependencies develop between practices of external government and self-government. Mach and Reynolds Number Effects on Transonic Buffet on the XRF-1 Transport Aircraft Wing at Flight Reynolds Number

This work provides an overview of aerodynamic data acquired in the European Transonic Windtunnel using an XRF-1 transport aircraft configuration both at cruise conditions and at the edges of the flight envelope. The goals and design of the wind tunnel test was described, highlighting the use of the cryogenic wind tunnel's capability to isolate the effects of Mach and Reynolds numbers and the dynamic pressure. The resulting dataset includes an aerodynamic baseline characterization of the full span model with vertical and horizontal tailplanes and without engine nacelles. The effects of different inflow conditions were studied using data from continuous polars, evaluating the changes in aeroelastic deformation which are proportional to $q/E$ and the influence of $M$ and $Re$ on the shock position. Off-design data was analyzed at the lowest and highest measured Mach numbers of 0.84 and 0.90, respectively. Wing lower surface flow and underside shock motion was analyzed at negative angles of attack using $c_p$ distribution and unsteady pressure transducer fluctuation data, identifying significant upstream displacement of the shock close to the leading edge. Wing upper side flow and the shock motion near buffet onset and beyond was analyzed using unsteady pressure data from point transducers and unsteady pressure sensitive paint (PSP) measurements. Buffet occurs at lower angles of attack at high Mach number, and without clearly defined lift break. Spectral contents at the acquired data points in the buffet range suggest broadband fluctuations at Strouhal numbers between 0.2 and 0.6, which is consistent with recent literature. The spanwise shock propagation velocities were determined independently via analysis of unsteady PSP and pressure transducers to be in the range between $u_s / u_{\infty} = 0.24$ and $0.32$

Identifying Defects in Li-Ion Cells Using Ultrasound Acoustic Measurements

Identification of the state-of-health (SoH) of Li-ion cells is a vital tool to protect operating battery packs against accelerated degradation and failure. This is becoming increasingly important as the energy and power densities demanded by batteries and the economic costs of packs increase. Here, ultrasonic time-of-flight analysis is performed to demonstrate the technique as a tool for the identification of a range of defects and SoH in Li-ion cells. Analysis of large, purpose-built defects across multiple length scales is performed in pouch cells. The technique is then demonstrated to detect a microscale defect in a commercial cell, which is validated by examining the acoustic transmission signal through the cell. The location and scale of the defects are confirmed using X-ray computed tomography, which also provides information pertaining to the layered structure of the cells. The demonstration of this technique as a methodology for obtaining direct, non-destructive, depth-resolved measurements of the condition of electrode layers highlights the potential application of acoustic methods in real-time diagnostics for SoH monitoring and manufacturing processes

Hegemonialität und Gouvernementalität von Optimierungsverhältnissen: Postdigitale Lernpraktiken zwischen Widerständigkeit, Prekarisierung und Affirmation

In ästhetisch digitalen Praktiken zeigen sich verschiedene Formen von Optimierungszusammenhängen, die zumeist mit Prozessen der Individualisierung und Vereinzelung gekoppelt sind. Ästhetisch digitale Praktiken können aber auch Möglichkeiten zur Kollektivierung und zum Widerstand gegen die allgegenwärtigen Optimierungsansprüche bieten. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden sowohl repressive als auch widerständige Seiten ästhetisch-medialer Praxen ins Auge gefasst. Die Ambivalenzen werden an zwei Beispielen beleuchtet. Das erste Beispiel stammt aus Japan und dem Bereich der Intelligent Assistent Systeme. Die nach einem Animecharakter gestaltete dreidimensionale Figur, Azuma Hikari, soll das Leben von jungen Single-Männern angenehmer gestalten und übernimmt eine Reihe von Sorgetätigkeiten für diese. An diesem Beispiel wird der technologiegestützte Umgang mit Vereinzelungstendenzen neoliberaler Gesellschaften aus einer care-feministischen Perspektive analysiert. Das zweite Beispiel ist das geplante digitale Mahnmal in der Keupstrasse, das mit Hilfe von augmented reality-Technologie an die beiden Bombenanschläge des NSU in Köln erinnern will. Gegenüber der offensichtlichen Dominanz der servilen Seite der prekären Selbstregierung im ersten Beispiel werden im zweiten Möglichkeiten des Widerstands gegen neoliberale Optimierung und Formen der Stiftung von Gemeinschaft untersucht
